We are about to shoot a new adventure of The Robot Fighter prior to this film. It will be called "Sienna" and will be shot in Early - Mid October 2024.

A mysterious and earth altering event has fused together random slices of land, sea, air and flora and fauna from four billion years of Earth’s past into the present day.

Three weeks after the event, it’s clear that this “temporal crash” has made the

air and water a contaminated slurry of ancient and modern chemicals and microbes. They

are slowly killing off animals and survivors, including paleontologists, Sam, and Roger.

After discussing the inevitable threats awaiting them, Roger brings up an encounter he had with

something – or someone -- he ran into while Sam was away on a supply run. A strange humanoid visitor unlike anything Roger had seen, stalked the premises before vanishing from Roger’s memory.

Before deciding to leave their rundown shelter to find help, the same strange visitors Roger saw return.

Demonstrating a strange and destructive power, Sam desperately attempts to fire at the figure only to find that time has skipped ahead into the following morning when Roger’s pneumonia has advanced beyond repair.

After burying Roger’s corpse, Sam marches outward through a wasteland of time only

to find the nearest city underwater. But her pain is short-lived as she comes face to face with --

The Fore-Men.

After a tense confrontation goes south, Sam dies staring at the back of her own ancient

Corpse -- a circle of death and degradation repeated incrementally across the beach.

An elderly man, known for his grumpy and reclusive nature, lives a quiet, isolated life in a small, rural town. His days are routine, marked by solitude and a deep-seated loneliness that he stubbornly refuses to acknowledge.

One evening, his monotonous existence is abruptly interrupted when a mysterious bright light streaks across the sky and crashes into his backyard. Investigating the source of the disturbance, he discovers an alien baby nestled within the wreckage. The sight of the helpless, otherworldly infant initially terrifies him, shaking the very foundation of his orderly world.

Despite his initial inclination to ignore the strange being, the man's sense of responsibility and curiosity begin to take hold. As he struggles with his decision, he finds himself inexplicably drawn to the alien child, who needs care and protection. This unexpected encounter forces the old man to confront the deep loneliness that has defined his life for so long.

In the end, the old man realizes that this alien baby, so different yet so vulnerable, has given him a second chance at life. Synopsis:
Charles Alderson and his wife settle in the Wyoming Territory, and form a lasting friendship with Thomas Jefferson "Windy" Gibson. Alderson's wife dies in childbirth, leaving him with an infant daughter, who he sends to Europe for an education. During the years in which she is abroad, Alderson becomes a wealthy cattle baron. The daughter, Karen, returns to Wyoming soon after it has been admitted to statehood. She finds that much of the land her father has considered as his own is now open to homesteaders, and that hostilities have broken out between the two factions. Alderson's foreman, Glenn Forrester, a former lawyer with whom Karen falls in love, warns Alderson against using violence in dealing with the homesteaders. Duke Lassiter, a smooth operator dealing in cattle rustling, sets himself up as a spokesman for the homesteaders and uses their fight with Alderson to further his own interests. When Lassister murders Windy, Alderson hires a gang of outlaws to war on the homesteaders.

Scalps - The commander of a Texan fort in the Civil War refuses to surrender to the Northerners, and tries to buy the local Indian tribe chief's daughter. "Not a bad one for Mattei. Released at the same time with White Apache, and according to rumors with more input by Mattei (who apparently directed most of this film) than on White Apache.

Lots of bad dialogue of course, but that was more or less expected. The music was for certain parts quite good, in the vein of older spaghettis but during other parts awful with more modern (whatever) flavor.

The film was certainly watchable, much better than, for instance, Zombi 3 which he "Co-directed" when Fulci was away for one or other reason. Mattei also tried here for some parts (usually in vein, though) to create this into a some kind of 'drama' film which was not so successful.

I have no idea about which version is uncut and which one is not, the version I saw was on Greek video.

If you find this one somewhere, check it out. It's not that bad as it is rumored to be (depending on your tastes, of course). I enjoyed it anyway."

Robert Mitchum stars in Zane Grey’s WEST OF THE PECOS (1945) a wonderful B western. After several years of working his way up from gang member to good guy in the Hopalong Cassidy films, Mitchum was finally cast as the new B western hero. Young Mitchum gets solid support in WEST OF THE PECOS from Barbara Hale as a cross-dressing Eastern lass who is very funny and practically steals the film years before she became known worldwide as "Della Street" on TV's PERRY MASON. In fact, some say she did steal the film!

Tim Holt’s sidekick, Richard Martin, becomes Mitchum's saddle pal for the second time and reprises his role as “Chito Rafferty.” Veteran Harry Woods leads the gang of outlaws, one of which, stuntman Henry Wills, can be spotted in the group. The supporting cast also includes Thurston Hall as Hale’s father and Bill Williams, who gets shot early on, was Hale’s future husband! His last name was Katt and the two had a son...actor William Katt "The World's Greatest Hero." Bill starred in the popular syndicated western series "The Adventures of Kit Carson."

As you’ll see, Mitchum already displayed traits that helped solidify his growing legion of fans. Lots of action and comedy make this a very entertaining film and the Lone Pine locations make it a superior looking B western. Mount Witney is in the background during a terrific tracking sequence shot on famed Movie Road.

The Civil War is over and the South has fallen, but Col. Jonas (Joseph Cotten) has a plan to revive the Confederacy. He raids a Union Army detail and walks away with valuable treasure that he intends to use to raise another rebel army. For writer/producer and NY Times Best Selling author Lee Goldberg, it was a Master Class on making hit TV shows and crafting characters in screenplays. A novelist and screenwriter with hundreds of mystery and crime stories to his credit, internet entrepreneur and author Lee Goldberg finally wrote a western. Called “Calico,” his book is a western with a twist. It’s set in modern times with an ex-LAPD cop sent to work in Barstow, California, for punishment and an attitude adjustment. What she finds is a dead body that catapults her into a time traveling murder mystery in the Old West. Typical of Goldberg’s popular mystery novels, this western contemporary, western set thriller is filled with his usual amounts of suspense and humor.

A western genre enthusiast and historian, Lee also talks with Word about GUNSMOKE’s nearly forgotten creator and writer, John Meston, and the evolution of the classic stories from radio to the long running TV series.

This rollicking episode with Goldberg and Word is followed by the recent GUNSMOKE MASH-UP. It’s an episode of the classic series combining the audio from radio and visuals from the TV series. The episode selected is the pilot for the TV version called “Hack Prine,” which aired on CBS May 12, 1956, but was originally scheduled to air in April.

Plot

Plot Summary:
"Relentless" unfolds in a small town where prospectors Len Briggs and Bob Pliny boast about discovering gold. For those of us who love westerns, we’re quick to notice if a Western film isn’t accurate. Whether it be the clothing, horse tack, or props.
I’m following up on an earlier video I posted today.
There are several Westerns that made the effort when it came to maintaining historical accuracy. It’s important to note that no western is 100% accurate. Perhaps they get the historic details of the event correct but get some clothing wrong or weapons used. We are talking here about those who do the best effort of getting it right. Let me know your thoughts in the comments. These movies are fictional accounts of history but not documentaries.
Here are some of the most historically accurate Western films. Some based on my viewers suggestions.

When 27-year-old Robert Mitchum was introduced as “Bob Mitchum” in his first starring role, Zane Grey’s NEVADA in 1944, a Hollywood Star was born.

In 1943 Mitchum appeared in 20 movies, beginning with his first credited role, a very small part as a gang member in HOPPY SERVES A WRIT (available to see in 4K in our A WORD ON WESTERNS Hopalong Cassidy Playlist). Mitchum went on to make an additional 6 Hopalong Cassidy movies, working his way up from “henchman” and ending up with a sizable role as a good guy.

Robert Mitchum was spotted in the Hoppy movies by RKO and tapped to take over Tim Holt’s B western series when Holt joined the army. Joining Mitchum in the launch of a new series was Holt’s regular sidekick, Richard Martin as Chito. Maybe because Mitch was still untried as a lead, a second sidekick was added, Guinn “Big Boy” Williams as Dusty. The leading lady was beautiful Anne Jeffreys who had just finished a series of B westerns with Wild Bill Elliott. Anne arrives on a runaway wagon of women and is helped by Mitchum. The pace is fast as Mitch wins big from a crooked gambler and gets falsely accused of murder. Soon he and his two saddle pals are on the run. NEVADA delivers lots of fast riding, shootin’ and laughs. I noticed Fred Graham doubling bad guy Harry Woods in a fight with Mitchum. Like most of the Tim Holt westerns, NEVADA is beautifully shot in Lone Pine and the nearby Alabama Hills.

Ben Johnson was the stunt double for Robert Mitchum in this film. His career would soon be on the rise as well. Ben would later receive a Best Supporting Academy Award for his work in THE LAST PICTURE SHOW. It's a prize that Mitch never received for his film work...although he certainly deserved one.

Of course, it’s Robert Mitchum that makes this such a watchable B western. Even at this early stage in his career, he’s so relaxed and natural in the role that it’s too bad he only made one more B western, WEST OF THE PECOS, before graduating to A movies and a long and successful career as one of Hollywood’s true legends.

Have you ever thought about an older classic western that should be remade today? I think sometimes that I’d like to see how some westerns would look now with a revamp. Not that the original was bad, just to see how it could be re-invigorated. We have seen some remade, usually disappointing. Maybe we should leave the originals as they were?
Of course we may be biased towards some older westerns as we have a love of the original actors etc.

"A decent western that might on the surface look routine with its cavalry vs Comanche story, however, there are some fresh touches such as when after the Indian attack on the Mexican village a curve ball is thrown when it's revealed that the Comanches are somewhat justified in their attack, plus Dana's character is the cousin of Quannah Parker. And though the action is lacking, the ending is quite tense when Quannah and his natives appear on the mountain, their vocalisation sounding eerie. Of course, what follows is a well structured action sequence.

Their leader is dying, if he does, the dogs he hired to protect him will, rob and pillage and....Tina Louise, playing against the Gilligan Isle type, most know her from. And fantastic character actors, I might not remember their names off the top of my head but their contribution will not leave my hollow head for quiet some time. Maybe. This movie is probably overlooked in the DVD bargain bin at your local big lot box store. Well worth the 2 for 5, even if your second selection bites, this one will be well worth it." Storyline:
The latest of a series of stagecoach holdups in the Arizona Territory takes place on a stagecoach in which Mike Ryan, undercover agent for the stage line, and Molly Jones, daughter of the local sheriff, are passengers. The bandana masking one of the robbers slips and he is killed by the gang-leader Velvet Clark. The latter masquerades as a respectable piano-playing citizen of the community. The townspeople are aroused enough over the continued robberies that they ask Sheriff Tom Jones to resign but they agree to give him more time when he takes on Ryan as a deputy. Circumstantial evidence leads the sheriff to Clark, but the latter kills him and escapes. Ryan tracks him to Gunsight Ridge where there is a showdown gunfight.

But here he is surrounded by extraordinarily talented actors, all working well together in a much better than average script.

Many of the characters get a chance to stand out, including one played by one of my favorites, the great Herb Vigran. I actually had a chance to meet him when he was playing in a stage version, in Los Angeles, of "Merton of the Movies."

A certain major TV series star played "Merton," but, to be honest, he was the least talented actor on stage.

Herb Vigran could have given him lessons -- as could a very young girl (maybe 7?) in the cast -- on how to project. But Herb Vigran had been around and started with some built-in talent that just grew and grew in his years as, for example, a villain in the "Superman" series, and in guest appearances in such other shows as "Adam 12."

He was also a charming and gracious person.

Leading lady Joan Weldon was outrageously padded and I wonder, again, why talented actresses allowed themselves to be so used. She was already beautiful, she did have talent, and being made to look almost grotesque simply made no sense.

There were three other important female characters, merely one more factor that prevents "Gunsight Ridge" from being properly called a "B movie."

As a character not named in the credits except "Farm Girl," young Carolyn Craig just plain stole every scene she was in. She was a really beautiful 23-year-old who looked younger, and had an amazingly expressive face. In short, she was a marvelous actress and I would bet she was stage trained.

"Rosa" was the girl-friend of the bad guy and, as played by Darlene Fields, about whom is nothing known, was a very sympathetic person. Darlene Fields also was beautiful, and I'm surprised so little is know about her. She too gave a superlative performance and should have been in dozens of movies and TV shows. What a shame we know so little about her.

Another great actor was Addison Richards who seemed the perfect career law enforcer.

All the other cast members deserve mention, too, but we're running out of electrons. Let me just say, again, nearly every one had a chance to stand out as characters and every one performed superbly.

There were two or three director flaws, but there is no reason to mention them. They did not detract much.

One major flaw, though, is that one character who is killed off early is not listed in the credits. And the actor who played him really deserves mention.

With his partner and wife, Johnie, Bob founded Wild West Toys, an American toy manufacturing company that makes recreations of the toy guns he grew up playing with. Is he still playing? You bet he is!

With a ready smile and hearty laugh, Bob joined me for an exclusive interview the second weekend of April, 2024, in Oklahoma City during the Western Heritage Awards. It was Cowboy Heaven. Our love of many of the same things is evident during our back-and-forth conversation recollecting memories and our shared passion for all things western.

As one of the directors and producers of Red Steagall’s long running TV series, “Somewhere West of Wall Street,” Bob is an award winner. He’s also the host and creator of “Westerns on the Web” showcasing classic TV and movie westerns and has produced and starred in the online series “Sundown” and “The Forsaken Westerns,” tributes to those wonderful westerns of old.

Bob is also a singer and musician. With his wife, Johnie, he writes and performs western music at events and church gatherings. Bob even lives in a log cabin they built together that’s located in north Texas. Growing up on ranches in Texas, Arkansas, Kansas and British Columbia, Bob worked as a real cowboy but always dreamed of the “reel” cowboys he grew up watching on television. His dreams came true! Storyline:
The latest of a series of stagecoach holdups in the Arizona Territory takes place on a stagecoach in which Mike Ryan, undercover agent for the stage line, and Molly Jones, daughter of the local sheriff, are passengers. The bandana masking one of the robbers slips and he is killed by the gang-leader Velvet Clark. The latter masquerades as a respectable piano-playing citizen of the community. The townspeople are aroused enough over the continued robberies that they ask Sheriff Tom Jones to resign but they agree to give him more time when he takes on Ryan as a deputy. Circumstantial evidence leads the sheriff to Clark, but the latter kills him and escapes. Ryan tracks him to Gunsight Ridge where there is a showdown gunfight.

But here he is surrounded by extraordinarily talented actors, all working well together in a much better than average script.

Many of the characters get a chance to stand out, including one played by one of my favorites, the great Herb Vigran. I actually had a chance to meet him when he was playing in a stage version, in Los Angeles, of "Merton of the Movies."

A certain major TV series star played "Merton," but, to be honest, he was the least talented actor on stage.

Herb Vigran could have given him lessons -- as could a very young girl (maybe 7?) in the cast -- on how to project. But Herb Vigran had been around and started with some built-in talent that just grew and grew in his years as, for example, a villain in the "Superman" series, and in guest appearances in such other shows as "Adam 12."

He was also a charming and gracious person.

Leading lady Joan Weldon was outrageously padded and I wonder, again, why talented actresses allowed themselves to be so used. She was already beautiful, she did have talent, and being made to look almost grotesque simply made no sense.

There were three other important female characters, merely one more factor that prevents "Gunsight Ridge" from being properly called a "B movie."

As a character not named in the credits except "Farm Girl," young Carolyn Craig just plain stole every scene she was in. She was a really beautiful 23-year-old who looked younger, and had an amazingly expressive face. In short, she was a marvelous actress and I would bet she was stage trained.

"Rosa" was the girl-friend of the bad guy and, as played by Darlene Fields, about whom is nothing known, was a very sympathetic person. Darlene Fields also was beautiful, and I'm surprised so little is know about her. She too gave a superlative performance and should have been in dozens of movies and TV shows. What a shame we know so little about her.

Another great actor was Addison Richards who seemed the perfect career law enforcer.

All the other cast members deserve mention, too, but we're running out of electrons. Let me just say, again, nearly every one had a chance to stand out as characters and every one performed superbly.

There were two or three director flaws, but there is no reason to mention them. They did not detract much.

One major flaw, though, is that one character who is killed off early is not listed in the credits. And the actor who played him really deserves mention.

PLOT (Wikipedia): Dave Harmon (Clint Walker), a former lieutenant in the U.S. Army is sent to Yuma as the new United States Marshal. His wife was raped and son killed and the only description of the criminals responsible was they were wearing army uniforms. He served in several locations as U.S. Marshal and all were near an army post. Yuma is a city with an army post commanded by Major Lucas (Peter Mark Richman) and an Indian reservation nearby.

Harmon rides into Yuma as the newly assigned U.S. Marshal and immediately encounters two drunk rabble rousers, the King brothers, who have hijacked a stage coach outside of town. One is killed in a saloon by Harmon when he draws his gun and the other locked up in the town jail. The second brother is subsequently murdered, shot in the back, using a gun from the Marshal's office during a nighttime jail break organized by Sanders (Robert Phillips), who is an associate of the freight company owner (Barry Sullivan), in an effort to get the third King brother, cattleman (Morgan Woodward) to kill the Marshal. The murderer had tricked army Captain White (John Kerr) into coming with him to the jail and being an accomplice to the crime, as the freight owner, his employee Sanders, and the Captain are all involved in an ongoing scheme to defraud the indians out of cattle they need for food that is due them according to a treaty.

The elder King brother rides into town and demands justice. He gives Harmon time to find his other brother's killer or he will return with his men and kill the Marshal. Marshal Harmon, showing no fear, but only a desire to do his official duty, sets out to find the killer and unravel the related corruption involving the indians, who also threaten to revolt, but come to his assistance as the story unfolds.

Widow Callum (Dame Judith Anderson) does her best to make Jeb feel loved as he is growing up, but the young man stubbornly maintains a sense of his own identity. While he has great affection for his foster-sister Thor (Teresa Wright), his relationship with her brother Adam (John Rodney) is tenuous at best, especially when Jeb blames him for shooting a colt that he was riding. Although Mrs. Callum blames the incident on deer hunters, she is aware that the it was actually the attempted murder of the youngster by her brother-in-law Grant (Dean Jagger), a shadowy figure who, for vague reasons, is determined to harm Jeb. Jeb loses a coin flip with Adam, and becomes the designated family volunteer to fight in the Spanish-American War. Jeb returns a hero, but does not find happiness. Although Thor loves him, Adam is resentful about sharing the farm's profits, and the omnipresent, enigmatic Grant remains at the fringes of Jeb's life, waiting for a chance to revenge himself on the young man in some mysterious vendetta as Jeb continues trying to exorcise his demons.

"Do the sins of the parents fall upon the children? That's just one of the questions this brilliant film noir with a western setting asks as the brooding Robert Mitchum recounts his story to his foster sister while waiting for his enemies to attack.

Only a western because of its early 1900's New Mexico setting, "Pursued" is a brilliant example of how writers could cross film genres to make a powerful statement. Like 1950's "The Furies" (which ironically featured the always brilliant Judith Anderson), "Pursued" is an almost Greek tragedy like drama in its view of a family in turmoil. Mitchum doesn't need to speak much to express his lost soul; It is written in his eyes. Wright becomes almost like "Hamlet's" Ophelia as her hatred descends into a seeming madness in her quest for revenge. Anderson, then starring as the vengeful "Medea" on Broadway, utilized every trick in her brilliant acting brain to make this character both lovable and even somewhat sinister. This is no Mrs. Danvers ("Rebecca") or Big Mama ("Cat on a Hot Tin Roof"), and everything she does will keep you riveted, as she always did on screen, even in the most turgid of movies. It makes me wonder how she would have been as the mother in "Mourning Becomes Electra".

While there is one outdoor shot that is obviously a backdrop, everything else technically about this movie is superior. It is a film that seems better with age, and is a must see for fans of the film noir genre as well as those who think that westerns are nothing but cowboys and Indians."

Dan Tomlinson, aka Will Sabre, head of a gang of outlaws, states his intentions to go straight but is warned by the new gang leader, Dunsten, that he has thirty days to come back to the gang---or else. On his way back to his hometown and girl, Judy, Dan picks up 10-year-old Robbie whose father has been killed. Dan gets a job as a bank teller and suspicion falls on him when a hold-up occurs and he doesn't use his guns. And, Dunsten and his former gang plants evidence to make it appear as if Dan cooperated with them. Dan is accused and now has to find a way to capture Dunsten and his gang, and clear his name.

On his way into town, Sabre happens upon an orphan. Robbie's father is dead and he's stranded along the trail. Sabre feels sorry for him and takes the boy with him into Durango. There he gets a job and tries to make something of himself--renaming himself Dan Tomlinson. But the gang is an ever-present threat. What is he to do? As is the case with all of George Montgomery's westerns I've seen, this is a very very competent and well made lower-budgeted film. Montgomery is excellent as always and they manage to make rather ordinary stuff a bit better than it should be. Well worth seeing.

New Western 2017 in English | Western Movies Full Length

Jake Roedel and Jack Bull Chiles are friends in Missouri when the Civil War starts. Women and Blacks have few rights. Jack Bull's dad is killed by Union soldiers, so the young men join the Bushwhackers, irregulars loyal to the South. One is a Black man, Daniel Holt, beholden to the man who bought his freedom. They skirmish then spend long hours hiding. Sue Lee, a young widow, brings them food. She and Jack Bull become lovers, and when he's grievously wounded, Jake escorts her south to a safe farm. The Bushwhackers, led by men set on revenge, make a raid into Kansas. At nineteen, Jake is ill at ease with war. As his friends die one after another, he must decide where honor lies.

Charles Bronson went to Italy to work with Sergio Leone in 1968 for ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST and came back a superstar. Ten years, 3 TV series and over 60 film and television appearances prior to his role of “Harmonica,” Bronson had his first starring lead in a feature film. He played a bounty hunter in the western called SHOWDOWN AT BOOT HILL in 1958.

You’ll see from his early performance in this film that Charles Bronson was always good. I remember many of his guest starring roles in episodic TV series and his lead roles in MAN WITH A CAMERA, EMPIRE and THE TRAVELS OF JAMIE McPHEETERS. With theatrical movie breakout roles in THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN, THE GREAT ESCAPE and THE DIRTY DOZEN, Bronson was building a huge fan base. Somehow, though, I’d always missed his first starring role and am pleased to be presenting it now.

In SHOWDOWN AT BOOT HILL Bronson’s bounty hunter character outdrew a wanted man and wants to claim the reward. Problem is that the killer with the price on his head had lots of friends in town, and no one wants to step up as a witness to support Bronson. This is an adult western shot in black and white, wide screen. The script is good. The cast has one standout performance. It’s that of veteran character actor John Carradine as a wise old barber. He and Bronson have several nice scenes together. You'll also spot Jose Gonzales-Gonzales, brother of Pedro, unbilled.

The film was shot on the 20th Century Fox lot and directed by former film editor, Gene Fowler, Jr., who knew how to keep things moving. SHOWDOWN AT BOOT HILL was wedged between a couple of Fowler directed cult classics; I WAS A TEENAGE WEREWOLF and I MARRIED A MONSTER FROM OUTER SPACE. Fowler directed Bronson next on TV's MAN WITHOUT A GUN, and several episodes of MAN WITH A CAMERA. Fowler was quite active on TV helming episodes of RAWHIDE, TALES OF WELLS FARGO, and GUNSMOKE.
