Donald Trump's campaign has accused the UK's Labour Party of election interference, as it sends volunteers to campaign for Kamala Harris in the US election.

Trump's team complained to the Federal Election Commission, and said "illegal foreign assistance" is a "another feeble attempt in a long line of anti-American election interference”.

The dispute began with a LinkedIn post from Labour's head of operations, asking for people to travel to the US, saying nearly 100 were already going.

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has played down the row, telling reporters that Labour volunteers “have gone over pretty much every election”.

Over 1,000 inmates are set to be released as part of the government's plan to ease overcrowding in prisons across England and Wales.

The early release scheme means some prisoners will be freed after serving just 40 percent of their sentence.

Meanwhile, tougher punishments outside prison are being considered as part of a new review into sentencing.

Sky's Mollie Malone reports from HMP Elmley, which is currently operating at almost 100% capacity.

Warning: This video contains details some viewers may find distressing.

Bianca Gascoigne has told Sky News she was groomed and assaulted by Mohamed Al-Fayed as a teenager while working at Harrods.

She's revealing her abuse for the first time having never told her parents Paul and Cheryl.

The model says that shame and embarrassment stopped her from saying anything at the time - but now she wants to speak out, so other woman can come forward.

Sky News has contacted Harrods for comment.

The department store has previously said it is "utterly appalled" by similar allegations and said it is a "very different organisation to the one owned and controlled by al Fayed between 1985 and 2010".

Rishi Sunak is to resign as Conservative Party leader after a catastrophic election defeat to Labour.

The outgoing UK prime minister announced his resignation outside 10 Downing Street in London.

Sunak said he will not resign immediately – only when formal arrangements for a successor have taken place.

Labour won the UK general election in a landslide, with the Conservatives seeing their worst result – in terms of seats – in the party's history.

UK police are preparing for more possible riots across England - with reports at least 30 protests could be planned for Wednesday.

Nearly 6,000 officers have been mobilised, say police sources, and the communities minister Jim McMahon says anyone involved in disruption will face "the full force of the law".

More people are due in court throughout the day, after the first person was jailed over the clashes on Tuesday.

The disorder erupted in cities across the country last week after the fatal stabbing of three girls in Southport - with unrest fuelled by misinformation online that the suspect was an asylum seeker.

Inquests have opened into the deaths of the three girls - the coroner said they will be "missed beyond any description".

Police have so far arrested 779 people in connection with rioting, with 349 of those charged, the National Police Chiefs' Council said.

It follows a week of violent disorder, including attacks on hotels housing asylum seekers and the looting of shops, which was fuelled by a false rumour that the Southport triple murder suspect was a Muslim asylum seeker.

Thousands of anti-racism protesters rallied in towns and cities across the country on Saturday.

People took to the streets in cities including Belfast, Birmingham, Cardiff, Glasgow and London.

The prime minister has vowed to do "whatever it takes to bring these thugs to justice" as he addressed the nation amid rioting in UK streets.

"I guarantee you will regret taking part in this disorder either directly or those whipping up this disorder online," Sir Keir Starmer said.

Referring to an attack on a hotel in Rotherham currently under way, he said: "There is no justification for taking this action. People in this country have a right to be safe and yet we have seen Muslim communities targeted and attacks on mosques."

Nigel Farage has said reports that the British High Commission in Mauritius had its phones hacked would prove the Mauritian government is a “bad actor” if true.

The Reform UK leader raised the question in Westminster to Foreign Office minister Stephen Doughty.

Mr Farage told the Commons: “Since the mistaken opening of negotiations by the last government on the sovereignty of the Chagos islands, it turns out the British High Commissioner and others appear to have been bugged by the government of Mauritius.

“If the police investigation into this proves to be true, and we can see that Mauritius, their government at least, are bad actors, in the light of that is the 99 year old lease that you’ve got on Diego Garcia, even worth the paper that is written on?”
