Sky News has spent time in the communities of Glasgow that have been ravaged by drug addiction.

The city has the highest number of drugs death per head in Europe.

The Scottish government is due to open the UK's first legal drugs consumption room, a location that will allow users to take narcotics while under medical supervision.

The aim is to reduce the number of drug deaths in the city.

Connor Gillies spoke to users in Glasgow about their addiction and how the project might help them.

Teen girl and woman ‘raped and sexually assaulted’ on beach as cops release CCTV of three men

COPS have released CCTV of three men after a teenage girl reported being raped and a woman said she was sexually assaulted on a popular UK beach.

Police received reports of the two alleged sex offences on Brighton beach at around 6am on September 8.

The offences are said to have taken place in an area of the beach between the two piers.

Cops investigating the offences are looking to identify three men who may be able to assist with ongoing enquiries.

The two victims are known to each other, said Sussex Police.

Detective Sergeant Paul Heal said: “The two victims are being supported by specially trained officers while our thorough investigation continues.

“We are undertaking multiple lines of enquiry to establish the circumstances around these incidents and ensure that those responsible are located and held accountable for their actions.

“Patrols have been increased along Brighton seafront, and we are working with our partner agencies to support this enhanced presence.

“If you recognise these men, or have information to assist our investigation, we ask that you contact the police.”

Anyone who can identify the men in the images, or who witnessed any suspicious activity in the vicinity of the seafront in the early hours of September 8, can report online here or by calling 101 quoting reference 228 of 08/09.

Russia on mission to cause mayhem on UK streets, warns MI5 | BBC News

Russia's intelligence agency has been on a mission to generate "mayhem on British and European streets", the head of MI5 has said, as he warned the UK faces the most "complex and interconnected" threat it has ever seen.

There has also been 20 Iran-backed plots since 2022, the director general Ken McCallum said.

He said the complex mix of terror-related threats and threats from nation states meant that MI5 had "one hell of a job on its hands".

A total of 43 late-stage attack plots on the UK have been foiled since 2017, he said, with some plotters trying to "get hold of firearms and explosives".

Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer said he is “interested” in learning about Italy’s scheme to send migrants rescued at sea to Albania to process asylum claims.

The British leader is meeting Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, as Italy receives the highest number of migrant arrivals, but has recently seen a dramatic fall.

"I've long believed that prevention and stopping people travelling in the first place is one of the best ways to deal with this particular issue”, said Keir Starmer.

The pair will discuss what is known as irregular migration, among other issues, as both countries aim to reduce arrivals by sea.
