Prime Minister Rishi Sunak made a surprise call for early elections - a decision that is projected to backfire. Recent polls show voters are deeply dissatisfied with his government. And Keir Starmer's centre-left Labour Party is on course for a landslide victory. The cost of living and the state of the health care system are among the key issues for Britons. Still, Sunak is hoping that he can sway undecided voters.
