Israel says it has carried out a targeted strike in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, that killed a top commander of the political-militant group, Hezbollah, and that 55 rockets were fired from Lebanon into northern Israel. As fears of all-out war grow, world powers have called for an immediate stop to the fighting.
