A Conversation with Office of Science and Technology Policy Director Arati Prabhakar
Arati Prabhakar, director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, will join AEI’s Chris Miller to discuss science and technology policy in an age of growing global competitiveness. They will explore how next-generation conflicts increasingly involve the scientific and technological capabilities of our adversaries (such as China), discuss the need for domestic support for increased investment in research and development (R&D), and assess recent efforts’ effectiveness in catalyzing such investment.
Following their conversation, AEI’s James Pethokoukis will moderate a panel—featuring AEI’s Claude Barfield, Bhaven Sampat of Arizona State University, and Caleb Watney of the Institute for Progress—exploring the renewed bipartisan interest in federal R&D in a broader context.
